Glencar Waterfall

Located 11km (7 miles) west of Manorhamilton Glencar Waterfall never fails to impress and is particularly beautiful after rain. The waterfall can be seen by following a tranquil wooded walk.

Lough Allen and Lough Allen Adventure Centre

Lough Allen is the first lake on the River Shannon and a popular fishing spot. The Lough Allen adventure centre is an award winning activity and eco friendly adventure centre. Activities on offer include windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking and hill walking to the summits of some superb mountains.

Parke's Castle

Beautifully situated on the shores of Lough Gill is the restored 17th century Parke's Castle. A plantation manor house once home to Robert Parke and his family, Parke's Castle has guided tours available on request and boat trips around Lough Gill can be taken nearby.

Shannon - Erne Waterway

Shannon- Erne Waterway is a canal stretching 61km (38 miles) from the village of Leitrim to Lough Erne in County Fermanagh linking the River Shannon and River Erne. Cruising on the Shannon-Erne Waterway is very popular with visitors and locals alike.

Carrick On Shannon

Situated on a beautiful stretch of waterway on a bend of the River Shannon, Carrick On Shannon is the capital of Leitrim. .With a modern marina Carrick on Shannon’s waterfront is a base for all types of watercraft and boats are available for hire. Away from the marina the town itself has a variety of shops, restaurants and pubs.

Carrigallen

Carrigallen, where the three provinces of Ulster, Leinster and Connacht Meet is a great base for fishing activities as many popular fishing lakes are in close proximity to the village with the town lake only 50 yards from the village centre.

Drumshanbo

Drumshanbo is a small charming town in the heart of County Leitrim. The name Drumshanbo is taken from the Gaelic version Druim-Sean-Bhoth meaning “Ridge of the Old Hut”. The town with views of scenic woodland is located on the shores of Lough Allen and is one of Ireland’s course fishing centres.

Manorhamilton

The principal town in north County Leitrim, with views of Benbo mountain, Manorhamilton is one of the towns which came to be as a result of the plantation of Leitrim. Manorhamilton Castle is well worth a look for any visitors in this area.
