Dooks Golf Club – A Hidden Gem in Irish Golf
Dooks Golf Club is among the oldest clubs in Irish golf, set up originally as a 9 hole links in 1889 an additional 9 holes were opened in 1970. Further dramatic improvements were made by acclaimed golf course architect Martin Hawtree, with an enhanced golf course opening in 2006, there has been a growing buzz around Dooks Golf club ever since.
Michelle McGreevy Manager at Dooks Golf Club explains “Some of the best golf courses in the world have a ‘link hole’ to get you from one piece of exciting ground to another. At Dooks, it’s the 1st. As soon as you walk over the hill to the 2nd tee,the Wow Factor! will make you forget your troubles and concentrate on playing proper golf. By the time you get to the par 3, 4th hole beside the beach you had better be well into your A-game because the run of holes from there to the 9th will test your mettle. The 368-yards, 7th is arguably the best hole on the golf course requiring pin-point accuracy from the tee and a ‘stadium’ atmosphere around the green.”
Occupying a stunning location in a corner of Dingle Bay the course is an authentic test of true Irish golf links where a warm welcome is offered to all. A round at Dooks Golf Club should not be missed by anyone on a golfing break in Kerry. Contact us today to book Dooks Golf Club and your Irish Golf Itinerary
