Trump International Golf Links – Doonbeg Golf
Named Doonbeg Golf Club when it was founded in 2002, the resort, which is home to the Greg Norman 18 hole links course, was purchased by Donald Trump in 2014 and the name has been changed to Trump International Golf Links & Hotel Ireland. Asked about his acquisition of Doonbeg Donald Trump said “Doonbeg is an already terrific property that we will make even better – it will soon be an unparalleled resort destination with the highest standards of luxury. It’s a very special piece of land on the Atlantic. A lot wanted it, but we will do a better job. All of my clubs are highly successful and Ireland will be too. We love Ireland. We’ve been there many times and Ireland has treated us well”
Located just 45 minutes from Shannon International Airport, 30 minutes from the esteemed Lahinch Golf Club and 45 minutes from the world famous Cliff’s of Moher, Doonbeg Golf course was immediately named “Best New International Golf Course” by Golf Digest when it opened in 2002 and now the renamed Trump International Golf club is a regular feature in the “top 100 in the world” rankings by golf writers. Carved from sand dune origins the most natural route was taken through the dunes during the layout of the course so that the mowing of grass was the only alteration the majority of greens and fairways needed. Offering views of the ocean from 16 of the 18 holes the seascape at Trump International Golf Club is spectacular.

[sc_testimonial name=”Greg Norman Golf Course Design” location=”” type=”speech”]Doonbeg Golf Club may be the last true links course to be built in either Ireland or Britain. The site is along 1½ miles of crescent-shaped beach and dunes. The ocean is visible from the green, fairway, or tee of 16 of the 18 holes. The dunes, centuries old, reach almost 100 feet.[/sc_testimonial][/sixColumns]

[sc_testimonial name=”Kevin M Kelly” location=”Maine, USA” type=”speech”]You’ll enjoy this fantastic Trump International Golf links course in beautiful County Clare. Brian, the pro and the staff are great. Padraig our caddy was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The course was in great shape and was a challenge to play with out being too difficult. I can’t wait to return to Trump International Golf Club Ireland and play it again.[/sc_testimonial][/sixColumns]
