Ardglass Golf Club

Located on the north east coast of Ireland, Ardglass Golf Club is well recognised for extending a warm welcome to all its visitors. With stunning views and many excellent and unique holes the course it is an ideal inclusion on any Northern Ireland golf tours and Ireland tours where golfers are also playing the nearby famous Royal County Down golf links.

The top rated Royal County Down is only 30 minutes drive from Ardglass, but with some outstanding holes the Ardglass Golf Club also warrants a visit on its own merit. The raised 12th tee offers stunning views of the Mourne Mountains and the Irish Sea, in fact the Irish Sea can be seen from every hole and on a clear day you may even be able to see across the waters to the Isle of Man.

In keeping with the medieval history of Ardglass Village the clubhouse at Ardglass Golf Club has been adapted from one of the ancient castles and parts of the clubhouse date back to the 13th century. Keep an eye out for ghostly goings on as many a tale is told of such by the staff!

Ardglass Golf Club is a wonderful links style course with breathtaking vistas. We arrived a bit early and were able to tee off early. A bit hard to figure out where the course takes you as the course was being reworked while we were there in 2013. We followed the lads in front of us to find our way. But the course and the views at Ardglass Golf Club were top notch.

Cormac Cahalane, Manager, Ardglass Golf Club” type=”speech”]Situated on the beautiful County Down Coast, Ardglass Golf Club is links golf as it should be. With rugged and beautiful coast line from every hole and the majesty of the Mourne Mountains providing the perfect back-drop, Ardglass has a true claim to be rated amongst the world’s greatest links courses.

I really enjoyed playing at Ardglass Golf Club. Every hole is different and the views are spectacular. You needed to think your way round especially on 11th! The welcome was warm, the Guinness excellent and the food was fantastic – all locally sourced. If you are on a Northern Ireland golf tour – do not miss this. I have played on over 230 courses in 4 different continents and I would put Ardglass Golf Club in my top 5.
